Family Violence Symposium: Understanding Gender and Cultural Violence

The Lake County 19th Judicial Family Violence Coordinating council and the College of Lake County Family Violence Grant co-sponsor this annual event during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This year’s keynote speaker is Jean Kilbourne, Ed.D., internationally recognized for her work on the interplay between advertising, violence against women, child exploitation and teen dating violence.

Additional sessions dealing with family violence will be presented to professionals in health care, victim advocates, psychologists, counselors, social service personnel, and educators.

Who should attend: school personnel, social workers & counselors, health care professionals, Victim Advocates, Youth Workers, Community Service Providers, Youth Ministers and parents.
