Lunch and Learn workshops on Nov. 11 and Dec. 4

Get a taste of two of the most popular training programs offered by the College of Lake County’s Workforce and Professional Development Institute at two Lunch and Learn workshops.

Implementing a Lean Office will be offered on Wednesday, Nov. 11, and Finance for Non-Financial Managers will be offered on Friday, Dec. 4.

Lunch and Learn workshops feature a professional facilitator delivering one hour of training, held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the CLC Southlake Campus, 1120 S. Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hills. The cost is $30 per person, which includes a participant guide, lunch and beverage. To register, call (847) 543-2615.

Implementing a Lean Office on Nov. 11 will demonstrate how Lean principles, processes and tools easily translate into the office environment. You will learn the basic Lean principles, identify wastes in an office setting and apply Lean job aids, tools and tactics to decrease clutter and improve performance in your office.

Finance for Non-Financial Managers on Dec. 4 will teach you some of the basic language and tools of finance that are an essential part of being a leader in business. This session explains the dynamics of how businesses grow financially, introduces basic financial concepts and shares how to interpret the information provided in annual reports.

The Client Solutions department of CLC’s Workforce and Professional Development Institute (WPDI) provides customized training, consulting and coaching for employee development at companies and organizations. Training can be on-site or at a College of Lake County campus and include programs in organization and management development skills, computer software, technical skills and communication skills.
