Small business classes for November and December
The Illinois Small Business Development Center at the College of Lake County will offer seven courses designed to help entrepreneurs and small business owners create, manage and grow successful businesses.Manage Your Business Dont Let It Manage You, from 7-9 pm on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at the Grayslake campus, explains strategies for managing your business more effectively, making more time for your life. Cost: $35.
Building a High Performance Team, from 7-9 pm on Wednesdays, Nov. 11 and Nov. 18 at the Southlake Campus in Vernon Hills, teaches you to develop the human resources role in your organization. Cost: $50. Learn to understand financial statements from profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheets; manage payroll functions and create customized reports to track and pay sales. Quickbooks Module 1 A Practical Introduction, from 8 a.m. to 5 pm on Thursday, Nov. 12. Cost: $149. Quickbooks Module 2 Intermediate, from 8 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Dec. 8. Cost $99. Both classes are offered at the Southlake Campus.
Maximizing Your Web Presence series. Effective Web Sites for Small Businesses, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12 at the Grayslake campus, provides direction in designing an effective Web site, whether your business consists of just you or is a growing corporation. Cost: $35. Search Engine Optimization for Small Business, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19 at the Grayslake campus, teaches you to become more visible on the World Wide Web by proper utilization of your Web site structure, keywords, header tags, Meta tag titles and Meta descriptions. Cost: $35. Enroll in both sessions for $60 and save $10.
