You will raise your awareness of domestic violence in all facets of your community. You will learn to respond safely and appropriately to domestic violence issues and will obtain current information on the battered women’s movement, the dynamics of domestic violence, barriers in leaving an abuser, lethality assessment tools, effects of domestic violence on children; teen dating violence, orders of protection, and legal advocacy. Due to the sensitive nature of the material discussed a background check will be required prior to enrollment. For more information contact our department at 847 543-2315. Note: A Safe Place provides this program. Special tuition rates are available for A Safe Place network partners including law enforcement and other social service agencies.
