PCJI 2Community Service Officer 21 units  

Police Department Community Service Officers (CSO) work everyday with the public. This training has been developed for current CSO’s. Course topics include hands-on defensive tactics when approaching prisoners and hostile persons and communication tactics. The defensive driving portion of the course includes 4-hours in the classroom and 4-hours of hands-on driving exercises. Officers must bring a department vehicle in good condition for defensive driving exercises. One car per student is preferred, maximum of two students per car. Note: Your department will be faxed a liability release form with the course confirmation. This form must be signed and returned before your CSO will be allowed to take part in the field driving exercises. Prerequisite: Employment as a Community Service Officer and a signed liability release form from the department is required to participate in the driving portion of the course.
